Just Add it to the List...

Just think of it as an excuse to eat more steak! ;)

Yeah, unfortunately I'm a vegetarian so it'll have to be pills for me.

Apparently I need more spinach!

baby spinach is awesome! try it with some sliced strawberries, slivered almonds and a raspberry vinegrette.......or mixed with some romaine, mangoes, pine nuts, avocado, and a miso dressing...mmmmmm..

Not uncommon, being vegetarian and all. I was very surprised to find that mine was normal when I donated blood to myself. Do you like apricots? Those are insanely high in iron, even the dried variety. If you don't, mangoes are as well.

I used to take supplements, but there was only one vegetarian supplement that I liked and I can't find it anymore. Long, boring story short, I liked it because most iron supplements require that you add a lot of fiber to your diet, if you catch my meaning, and this one didn't.

The downside is that any route you go takes two weeks to kick in.

My mom is anemic, so that coupled with being a vegetarian, I'm not surprised that I have problems.

I actually love apricots, and had a craving for them the other day so I went out and got some dried ones. Ah, body. You're so crazy in your cravings because you're deficent in something.

Mangoes make me want to vomit, so it's a no-go on those.

I'll probably end up taking some sort of pill like my mom does. I have to go in for more blood work, so we'll see what the doctor says. I'm just waiting for the crappy thyroid to kick in. Crazy, iron problems, thyroid problems weight problems, and diabetes. I love my genetics!!!

I'll take it! Minus the mangoes, of course. Pleft.
no worries....but if you do make it, then make sure to replace the mangoes with another fruit that has vitamin C as the vitamin C assists the iron absorption in your body. (they are synergistic)
